1st day of school

Pete started kindergarden and Drew is in second grade. I have one child a home and I feel like I have so much more freedom. I miss them but it was time for them to go. Today was the second day and Pete wasn't excited as yesterday but I hope he learns to love it. I love school starting it means we are so much more closer to fall my favorite season.

We have been having a great time together. The last pic is a sign for parking for expectant mothers or brand new moms so of course we had to park there. I love being with my cousins and there significant others they have to be some of my best friends. Plus Caleb has had everyone laughing there heads off.

We had our traditional Father of the Bride party last night. It was a great night we sat out by the pool had some great snacks and watch a classic. I am so happy for Mandy she was beaming the whole night. I can't wait for the big day it is going to be so much fun. Love you and congrats Bradley is a great addition to an already wonderful family.

Pete in his usual(no pants and he loves the rain boots). You tell him to get pj's on and he comes out wearing long johns in the middle of summer. I can't wait to show these pictures to them when they are older. Pete is always in costume or running around in his underwear. Emily loves to be outside just as much as Pete except she always has to have a pretty outfit on you. Never know whos going to show up thats the way a girls mind works. Drew is quite opposite loves to be indoors watching his shows and he has such a nice face in this picture(he was mad at Sam for some reason). Four more days of school I can't wait. Hope everybody has relaxing Memorial Day.

I can't take all the credit for these. Lindsey(LaRue) did the monogram part. I haven't mastered that part yet I am still trying and learning. She did a great job though. She does cakes of all sizes so if you ever need a cake she does a awesome job. These were for Clint Bartley's wedding shower.

I feel like this is a duty blog with a picture thrown in. Sorry I have been gone so long I am sure you all have been seating on the edge on your seats waiting for the next one. Life has been really busy lately so you would think that I would have plenty to blog about but I have I felt like I had really nothing to say. Does that ever happen to anyone else? Ducklings

We got to babysit the ducklings from Drew's class today/tonight. All I can say is that if ever your child bring home a paper saying would you be able to watch the ducklings for a night say no. They are so messy and all they do is peep,peep,peep. I do have to say thank goodness it was a nice day. We let them wander around the yard for a while they loved the water(of course the are ducks). When it was time to put into the box they pooped every where. The instructions on how to care for the ducklings said only to change the newspaper once a day that is crazy we have already changed it like four times. I would have never signed up for this knowing it was going to be like this. Besides the fact Drew could care less they are here and he doesn't even want to touch them(fear of getting bitten). Well you live and learn now I know to check the no box when Pete brings home this paper.

So Sam leaves bright and early in the morning for Guatemala. He is heading down to Eagle Nest orphanage to look at security for the buildings. He is going with Mark H., Gary W. and Scott M. So if you are reading this Pray for there safety down there and traveling. I have been home by myself before when Sam has gone to Vegas or Columbia(MO) but this time its different and I really don't know why. I guess he never seemed that far away and this time he is going far. I know that the Lord will watch over him and me. Its weird when you think about it that it wouldn't make much of a difference considering I am home with the kids but to have Sam there helps out so much more. I take for granted how much he really does do stuff for me or the kids so Sam if you are reading this thanks for all you do. I know that you have a lot on your plate right now(school, work, trying to sell the stinkin Jeep). You are a great husband and father. Life can be stressful sometimes but when we both let go and give it to God it always works out in the end. I hope you have a wonderful time and you use this time to really let God open your eyes and heart. I LOVE YOU.

Lost Withdraw

I am having a withdraw from not seeing Lost for a couple weeks. It comes back on the 24th of April. I can't wait for it to come back on. Plus, I miss having everybody over to watch it. Just 3 more weeks.

Backyard!!!!

If any of you have ever been over to my house in the last two years my backyard has looked like a war zone. We have spent countless hours out there getting it ready. Well Friday we finally finished the project two years in the making. Sam worked all day with our good friend Kenson day getting it ready to lay sod. I got into town around 6 and at 7 we laid sod till about 1 that morning. We also had help from our wonderful next door neighbors. Words can't describe how much I have wanted this backyard and I can't stop staring out the back door. I love grass.

How Sad Is This Face

Well Pete caught the flu. He looks horrible and sounds bad too. Sometimes I find it selfish to ask people for prayer when I know there are people out there far worse that Pete. I just feel so bad for him. I also hope Lil' Emily doesn't come down with this, it will not be a fun spring break. The kids are all supposed to go visit their GiGi on Sunday and stay till Wednesday. So pray that Pete will feel well by then or he will have to stay with me and we both probably won't want that. If you have not had the flu this season count your blessings because it is going around everywhere(and we even got the flu shot). So I hope everyone stays healthy and well. Maybe the weather will stay nice. I couldn't want spring more.

Spring Dance

Even though it isn't spring Drew's school had a spring dance/carnival on Friday night. Looks like fun was had by all. The kids loved it and Millie loved to dance. I went to Drew's school when I was little and not much has changed except for a few teachers.
I love his school and I can't wait for Pete to go their especially when next year he will have Ian and a few other friends with him.
I wish Millie could go with him she would love it. Pete and Drew would love it too.

Snow Day

I am so ready for my kids to go back to school.
Drew has had the flu since last thursday and Pete has had a cold and ear infections in both ears. Sam also has had a really bad cold and he isn't over it yet. Luckily nobody else got the flu. Emily and I are the only well ones in the group. I am so sick of winter and we got a little spoiled with last weekends weather. I have to be thankful though and remember that spring is right around the corner (hopefully). The snow though makes my kids so happy to be able to play in it. Pete must have asked me a hundred times this morning "when can we go out ?". It was hard to get him inside to eat lunch. I love that he loves being outside. At one point I looked out and he is standing in the fire pit which is filled with water and no gloves on and I wonder how he gets sick.

One of the many reasons why I love Sam. I hadn't received anything for my birthday yet and yesterday when I got home there were these. He had them arranged all by himself too. I love flowers. I couldn't ever get enough of them. They just brighten your day. Thank you Sam. I love you.

Sam & Natalie's Dallas Trip

So, Sam & I went to Dallas TX for the Cottonbowl. Sam's MIZZOU Tigers were playing the Arkansas Razorbacks. and of course, the Tigers won.

It was a fun trip. We had a great time even just driving the 6.5 hours down there together. We watched one of Sam's favorite shows in the car called "Flight of the Conchords", and we laughed our heads off.

We also went Downtown Dallas and saw the Dallas World Aquarium. I didn't want to go at first, but I am glad that I did, because it was a sight to see.

It was fantastic to get away on a trip by ourselves. I recommend this to anyone with kids. It really recharges your batteries. Don't get me wrong, I missed all 3 of my kids, but it was also so great to break away from the norm.

So Mandy and Bradley brought over the puppies (the very large puppies) so that we could take a picture for some christmas cards. This is the best pic but Emily has horrible red eye and the big flash on the window above Drew's head is very distracting. I have tried to mess with both but have had no luck so if anybody has some fancy program on there computers to fix pictures let me know if not we will use a different pic(sorry Mandy).

Well folks Halloween is finally over. The Christmas decorations have come out. I know it is early for some people but for me and most of the people in my family it can't come soon enough. The tree is not up yet probably this weekend. The kids love when we get the Christmas stuff out its like their first time to see the stuff. I will post some pics as soon as it is all up. Hopefully the lights on the outside will up this weekend too.

Coming Soon-Fun Night

Fun night is coming in two weeks. This year the theme is "Fun Night at the Museum" This is the one thing besides the last day of school that Drew looks forward to. I know because it was the same thing that I looked forward to when I was little. Drew is going to the same elementary school that I went to as well as a lot of other people(Jeff, Mandy, Britt,Ryan,Missy,). They probably can remember fun night too. The hospital has the longest lines and if you wait around long enough as you can see you will always win something in the cake walk or pop walk. Anybody is welcome to come with us if you want.

We bought everyones costumes for this year this weekend, which Pete has worn all day today. Hopefully he won't wear it out before we actually get to Halloween. I sure do miss my sister and her family and it makes me sad that they won't be here for Halloween. I know my kids are sad too, but only about 5 more weeks to go until they return.

Another Milestone

Drew lost his first tooth yesterday. Which was a big thing for him because he let his dad pull it out. For anyone who knows my child knows how much of a drama king he can be when it comes to pulling things out (splinter,ticks,ect..) or getting hurt. So for him to let Sam do this was very brave of him. He did a great job. I was sitting in the other room and didn't even hear a peep out of him. Silly as it may sound it makes me sad. It reminds me that Drew and all my kids are growing up. Time has flown by, but maybe this is a reminder to me to enjoy the little things in life even the simplest of one as a lost tooth.
